Wheel Chair No 148 Handed Over

Wheelchair no 148 was handed over to Mzee Abdallah Said of Nyasaka area in Mwanza city. Mzee Abdallah Said is a diabetic patient and has lost his eyesight. He is also dependent on insulin and his both legs and hands have now fallen numb due to diabetes. Due to acute poverty, Mzee Abdallah Said is not able to get the right diet needed for a diabetic patient.

His monthly (INSULIN) medical needs and monthly blood tests including HBA 1 C three monthly tests are tshs 50,000/= and proper diabetic diet is about tshs 200,000/= ie approximately USD $ 150 per month. Dr.Mubarak Janmohammed of Bugando Medical Centre has volunteered to treat this patient without any consultation charges.

Today a wheelchair and a portable WC chair were handed over to the patient for enabling him to leave a more comfortable life. The wheelchair donated today is the 5th wheelchair donated by Mr and Mrs Habib Khimji of Mwanza. The recipients family thanked the donors for their timely assistance and prayed for the well being of the donors and their family.

Wheelchair cost is 110 – 120 UK pounds (if buy above 20, its buy one get one free) Tricycle for disable cost 200 UK pounds
